Mr. Pambavasan Nair is an established entrepreneur, distinguished industrialist, and well-known philanthropist. He is the Founder and Managing Director of the Amad Group of Companies, which operates multiple businesses in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia & India. For over 26 years, Amad Group has been a symbol of excellence in the Gulf region. With his immaculate vision and diligent expertise, Mr Nair ventured into the industrial sector, establishing an automated switchgear factory in Bahrain in 2007, followed by another in Saudi Arabia in 2010. He made history as the first expatriate to set up automated switchgear factories in two different countries, earning admiration from the Kingdom's rulers.
Even amid the challenges of COVID-19, Mr. Nair invested 1.8 million Bahraini Dinars to transform his Bahrain factory into a fully automated facility equipped with cutting-edge technology. Further expanding his business horizons, he is presently constructing the third manufacturing facility in the prestigious Saudi MODON Industrial Area, with an investment exceeding 50 million Saudi Riyals. Every year, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali day, the Bahrain Royal family visits Mr Nair's residence to personally exchange Diwali greetings & spend some memorable time with the Nair family. The esteemed presence of the royal family & many prominent cabinet ministers of Bahrain is celebrated by the Nair family at their residence every Diwali.
Mr Nair is immensely popular as a philanthropist in the GCC and India. For many years, he has been involved in social and charitable causes, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. Whether it is financial aid for medical treatment, sponsoring education, or constructing homes for the homeless, he is wholeheartedly committed to helping the destitute. In 2023, he formed the CMN Trust - Chandramma Madhavan Nair Trust - named after his late parents. Over 100 families in distress are receiving monthly financial support through this Trust. During the pandemic, he even offered his hospital building in Kerala to the government for COVID care, as part of his social commitment. Charity is not just about making a donation - it is about making a difference. On the auspicious occasion of his housewarming, he officially announced the "Home of Your Own" project, which aims to provide 50 houses to the underprivileged within five years. In a short span of 14 months 20 houses got completed & have been handed over. This noble initiative seeks to shelter less fortunate families with a home of their own. For his humanitarian efforts, Mr Nair has received numerous honours, including the Swargeeya K.R. Narayanan Centenary Memorial Award, Times of Bahrain - Business Icon Award, KCA Pravasi Bharatheeya Golden Excellence Award, WMC Golden Global Business Excellence Award, and the Pioneers Leadership Excellence Award. Most recently, he was conferred the Dr Mangalam Swaminathan Pravasi Bharatiya Excellence Award 2025, a prestigious national recognition for his exceptional service to humanity.
Mr Nair is married to Kala Nair, and they are blessed with two children – Dr Namrata, pursuing MD in Dermatology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, and Vighnesh, an Electrical & Electronic Engineering graduate from the University of Nottingham, soon to begin his master's. Mr. Nair firmly believes that each of us must work for our own improvement while sharing a general responsibility for all humanity.
